Through the APNIC Foundation's ISIF Asia programme, LACS was deployed with CVISNET on the islands of Gilutongan, Caohagan and Pangan-an off Cebu — combining point-to-point links, satellite and locally accessible cloud to keep the islands served when the mainland link is cut. An earlier 2022 grant supported Typhoon Rai victims using LACS.

Rappler reported on the Locally Accessible Cloud System bringing online education to Gilutungan Island, Cebu. With Moodle installed on the local servers, teachers and students held classes over the LACS Wi-Fi network — the coursework hosted locally, so patchy island connectivity stopped being the constraint.
